Bihar: Court slaps 10 years for carrying banned spirit

Jamui, Jan 24 (UNI) Additional district and session judge Vishwnath Singh today awarded ten years rigorous imprisonment to an accused who was arrested along with nine drums of banned spirit.
Justice Singh, who is also a special judge for excise related matters, held guilty the driver Shailesh Kumar for carrying the spirit.
The judge also slapped fine of Rs 2 lakhs on the accused.
The accused will have to remain in the prison for an additional period of six months in case he failed to deposit the fine.
As per the case, nine drums of spirit were recovered from a jeep on February 6, 2019 near Chakai turning under the same police station area during a vehicle checking drive.
The driver of the jeep, Shailesh Kumar o village Parshurampur under Dariyapur police station was arrested in this connection.
