Bihar Assembly unanimously passes resolution for caste based census in 2021

Patna, Feb 27 (UNI) Bihar assembly today unanimously passed a resolution for holding
the census for the year 2021 on the basis of caste.
Speaker of the state assembly Vijay Kumar Choudhary moved the proposal in the Lower
House which was passed unanimously.
While moving the resolution Mr Choudhary said that during passage of the resolution on
February 25 in the budget session against implementation of National Record for Citizenship
( NRC) in the state and for execution of National Population Register (NPR) in accordance
with the provisions made in it in the year 2010, the House had unanimously decided to again
pass the resolution for holding caste based census for 2021 and send it to the concerned
authorities on appropriate time.
Mr Choudhary said that the census for the year 2021 would be taken up and the time has
come to apprise the concerned authorities about the resolution adopted by the Bihar
assembly in this connection.
He said that the House had earlier passed the resolution for holding caste based census
in 2021.
