Bihar: Anil Hegde elected unopposed in by election to the RS

Patna, May 23 (UNI) Anil Hegde of JD(U) was elected unopposed on Monday in by election held for the seat fell vacant following death of Rajya Sabha member King Mahendra.
Bihar Legislative Assembly secretary and handed over the certificate to Anil Hegde after his election to the Rajya Sabha.
Later Anil Hegde extended his gratitude towards Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and JDU national president Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh.
Anil Hegde who had worked with the leaders and formar Union Minister like George Fernandes said that he would continue to work for strengthening and expansion of the party in his new role as Rajya Sabha member.
Nitish Kumar also congratulated Anil Hegde for being elected to Rajya Sabha.
