Bihar: 2297 new cases, COVID 19 tally reaches 59567

Patna, Aug 3 (UNI) With detection of 2297 new coronavirus positive cases the tally of infected increased to 59567 in Bihar on Monday.
Health department sources said here that of the new cases Patna reported with 293 new cases followed by Katihar with 137, Begusarai 130, Vaishali 115, East Champaran 96, Madhubani 95, Gaya 91, Saharsa 90, Bhojpur and Nalanda 84 each, Muzaffarpur 82, Purnea and Saran 72 each, Sitamarhi 69, Rohtas 68, Siwan and Supaul 57 each, Khagaria 51, Buxar 49, Samastipur 46, Aurangabad and Darbhanga 46 each, Banka 45, Bhagalpur 44, West Champaran 37, Sheikhpura 30, Gopalganj 27, Lakhisarai 26 , Araria 24, Nawada 22, Jamui 21, Madhepura 20, Jehanabad and Kaimur 17 each, Arwal and Munger 10 each, Kishanganj nine and Sheohar eight.
Meanwhile, Health secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh said that with 1871 patients recovering during the past 24 hours 38508 people have so far recovered in the state where the recovery rate was 64.65 per cent. Altogether 20,722 active cases were at present in the state.
