Bihar: 1510 candidates in fray for second phase of Assembly elections

Patna, Oct 19 (UNI) Altogether 1510 candidates were in the fray for 94 assembly seats out of total 243 slated for poll in the second phase of the three phased Bihar assembly election to be held on November 3.
Additional Chief Electoral officer Sanjay Kumar Singh said here today that after expiry of the deadline for withdrawal 1510 candidates were left in the fray. He said that 1698 and after scrutiny 1514 were found to be valid. Four candidates withdrew their nominations on October 19 after which 1510 candidates contesting.
Mr Singh said that Altogether 1066 candidates were in the fray for 71 assembly seats slated for poll in the first phase of the election to be held on October 28.
