Big wins for HCA XI, Kerala

Hyderabad, Aug 22 (UNI) A rollicking 113 by P Akshath Reddy put to shade an equally brilliant unbeaten 113 by DB Ravi Teja as HCA XI whipped Andhra Colts by 80 runs in a Group ‘A’ first round match of the All India Coromandel Moin-ud-Dowlah Gold Cup-2017 cricket tournament that got underway here today.
Reddy’s 109-ball blitzkrieg comprised of seven hits to the fence and give towering heaves over the ropes. HCA XI’s 305 for five in the stipulated 50 overs also saw Tanmay Agarwal (88) and Ambati Rayudu (63) striking it big. The opponents were restricted to 225 for nine, despite Teja’s magnificent effort.
In other matches, Vidarbha defeated Goa in a truncated match, Baroda pipped Combined Districts XI, while Kerala made light of HCA President XI’s 232 target to post a comfortable four-wicket win, thanks to Fabin Farook Ahmed (89no) and Rohan Kunnummel (74).
