Jammu, Sep 16 (UNI) Asserting that a big nexus is functional in the state, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Sunday said that the Kakrayal attack in which three Jaish terrorists were killed, has been handed over to the National Investigating Agency (NIA).
"There is a big nexus of terrorists operating, which came to fore during investigation of Kakrayal attack case and the case has also been handed over to the NIA," Mr Singh said here.
"Once the probe moves into advanced stage, many revelations will be made. As the case is with NIA, I cannot disclose much but a nexus of terrorists is operational in the state, which will soon be exposed," said Mr Singh.
The police chief visited the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Hospital, Katra and inquired about the health of the injured police cops in the attack.
He also rewarded the locals for their cooperation during the attack.
Meanwhile, on upcoming Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat polls in the state, the DGP said,
"To instill sense of security among people so that they can cast their vote without any fear is a major challenge."
"Our personnel in the last few days have eliminated the terrorists and have cleared that they would not let anyone vitiate the peace in Jammu and Kashmir," he added.
"Our aim to provide secure and safe environment to people so that they can cast their votes and many measures have been taken with regard to security grid across the state," said the police chief.
The DGP congratulated the people of Jhajjar Kotli, Sopore and other areas of Kashmir for cooperating with police to kill the terrorists.
On threats to police families and reports about some cops willing to quit the job, he said, "nobody wants to leave the job. Our personnel love their uniform. Threats are not something new in Kashmir."
The department is also looking to ensure that the misguided youth who joined militancy return and live a happy life, Mr Singh said.
The DGP however, also advised media not to reach to conclusions without knowing the facts as they have a major role to play in the society. He also had words of appreciation for many media houses for being calculative and constructive in reporting.
