Big C eyes at Rs 1500-cr turnover in FY19, foray into TN by next month

Hyderabad, Aug 16 (UNI) Big C (Big Change), a leading Mobile phone retailer, has set a target of
Rs 1500- crore business in this fiscal.

"We are expected to get 50 per cent business growth during the current financial year against 40 per cent (Rs 1015 crore) growth in previous year (2017-18)," Big C founder and CMD M Balu Chowdary told a press conference on the sidelines of unveiling the new brand identity of Big C (new logo), here on Thursday.

He said: "We are entering into Tamil Naidu market by opening 20 outlets next month. Once we stable in Tamil Nadu market, we will expand our footprint in Southern states in a phase manner."

"We have over 225 owned stores at 82 locations in the both Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and as part of massive expansion. We are planning to open 38 more stores in Hyderabad alone in the next 6-months against 63 currently existing," Mr Balu said and added that each store required between Rs 30 lakh to Rs 40 lakh investment.

He said the company which currently has 2,500 employees, catered to 5-crore customers during the last 16 years and 75 per cent customers are repeated customers.

Announcing that they have singed leading actress Samantha as the new brand ambassador, he said 88 per cent business coming on top 6 brands.

To mark this occasion, the Big C offers have been lines up for the customers. Insurance is free on select mobiles and await great offers across the range, he added.

PHD Chamber identifies 10 key enablers for India to become Viksit Bharat by 2047

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) Industry body PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry has identified 10 key enablers including ease of doing business, reducing cost of doing business such as cost of capital, power, logistics, land among others, that would lead the Indian economy to “Viksit Bharat by 2047”
