Bhupesh Govt in Chhattisgarh waives off farm loan of Rs 6100 crore

Raipur, Dec 18 (UNI) Newly formed Bhupesh Government in Chhattisgarh has approved farm loan waiver of Rs 6100 crore for farmers within a few hours after it was sworn-in.
In a cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday night, it was decided to waive off short-term farm loan of Rs 6100 crore in cooperative banks and Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank as on November 30, 2018. More than 16 lakh 65 thousand farmers will get benefit of the decision of state government.
While, Kamal Nath government in neighbouring state of Madhya Pradesh specified date of March 31, 2018 and limit of Rs 2 lakh for loan waiver, Chhattisgarh specified the date of November 30 without specifying limit of loan amount.
