Bhupesh Government should fulfil promise of waiving off farm loans : Jogi

Raipur, Jan 9 (UNI) Janta Congress Chhattisgarh Supremo Ajit Jogi has asked the Bhupesh Government to fulfil its promise to farmers by waiving off their loans and enforce blanket ban on liquor in accordance with its commitment to save future generation of the state.
Beginning discussion on behalf of the opposition on motion of thanks on Governor’s address at Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday, former chief minister Ajit Jogi described issuance of notification by the state government for loan waiver within four days after taking oath, as a commendable step. He, however, said that it was wrong for not mentioning about waiving off mid-term and long-term loans and the loans obtained from banks run by Reserve Bank of India.
He said that Congress President Rahul Gandhi had talked of waiving off entire loans of farmers at more than 10 places in the state and that there should have been mention in the notification over waiving off four types of loans. In accordance with its promise the government should remove lines in fourth paragraph in the notification.
