New Delhi, Jan 13 (UNI) A Tees Hazari court will hear on Tuesday the bail application of 'Bhim Army' chief Chandrashekhar Azad who was arrested in connection with the riots last month in old Delhi over the Citizenship Amendment Act.
According to authorities, Azad had organised a march from Jama Masjid to Jantar Mantar area on December 20 without the permission of police to protest against the law which provides refuge to minorities fleeing religious persecution in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
He was arrested and sent to judicial custody on December 21 as per order of the court.
Azad submitted that there was no evidence against him in the First Information Report which alleged that he had instigated the crowd to march to Delhi gate from Jama Masjid and embark on a spree of violence.
