Bhedaghat/Jabalpur, Jun 12 (UNI) Spellbinding Marble rock heights gleaming in the sunlight forbye the enchanting Narmada while cooling breeze blowing through traveller's hair, the mesmerising Marble Rocks at Bhedaghat will feel nothing less than a dreamland after a voyage in 'shikara', the local boat. A boat ride through the crystal clear placid waterway which is near Jabalpur, will lead to inner 'panchwadi' is surrounded by five rocky mountains separated fascinating Narmada river as five tributaries. A full moonlight voyage here will surely transform anyone into a lucid dream as it's a picturesque view of Marble mountains. These rocks are a gorge along part of 1,077 km route of Narmada through the state of Madhya Pradesh. Earlier, it was narrow here and monkeys could cross it easily this place become 'Bandar Kudni' which means Monkey's jumping place. The white marbles magnesium rich and equal as soap stone. It's softness allows the Local artisans to carve beautiful art forms and earn an income out of it. "Sathrangee, seven colours of Marble rocks found in 'Bhedaghat' are snow white, golden, grey, blue-grey, pink, brown, black, Marble " a local sculptor Muhammad Shaikh says. Soaring lime stone mountains upto 100 ft is literally a test to your imagination, there are verges of the marble mountains can be watched close enough that will hallucinate Elephants, goddesses, flowers, animals and all above the map of India. 'Samajh gaya tho art nai to modern art e jaga ka nam hai Bhedaghat' ( It's an art if you understand and modern art if you are not, this place is called Bhedaghat) local boat rider Sivam quips. There is Vindhya range on one side and Sathpura on the other can be watched through the 'shikara' ride. One of the five holy rivers in India Narmada unanimously called as 'Maa Narmada' and there are also some other stories circumnavigating the myths. Local peoples believe that in the night-long vigil of 'Maha Shivaratri' the small 'Shiv Linga' that installed upon one of the lime stone mountain will elevate some inches from its actual shape. There is also a three headed shaped rock head which locals consider it as Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, the trinity of Hinduism. A small cave inside the rocks in which natives believe its the place where Sankara Bhagwan meditated once. The serene location is a filmy place that has been the backgroud of heroistic actions of Sunil Dutt in 'Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye' to latest Hrithik Roshan's 'Mohan Jodaro'. Hrithik's action with Crocodile was shooting here, said shivam. 'Raat Ka Nasha Abhi' from 'Asoka' was shot in Bhedaghat. Raj Kapoor and Padmini featured ' Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai' in 1961 was also shot here. Bhedaghat station is the nearest railway station and the main city Jabalpur is around 28 km and can be easily get taxis to this marble land.
