Bharat Bandh evokes little response in Lucknow, mixed in other areas

Lucknow, Jan 29 (UNI) The Bharat Bandh called on Wednesday for the withdrawal of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) among other demands saw almost no effect in the state capital Lucknow while shops in some areas with minority-community population in several districts remained closed.
Numerous districts, including Lucknow, saw people going about their usual activities. The government and private offices were open. Vehicles were seen plying on the roads in the usual manner.
Gonda, Sitapur, Bahraich, Firozabad, Agra saw partial effect of the bandh. Markets were closed in old Sitapur area.
