Bhagini Nivedita Sahakari Bank wins ‘Sahakarnishth’ award

Pune, Sep 16 (UNI) The Bhagini Nivedita Sahakari Bank has won the ‘Sahakarnishth’ award for the year 2017-18 for being the most efficient bank in co-operative sector.
The award, organised by the Maharashtra government, was presented by state Minister for Cooperation, Subhash Deshmukh, to the bank's officials -- chairperson Jayashree Kurundwadkar, vice- chairperson Rewati Paithankar and chief executive officer Smita Deshpande, among others, in a function held in Nashik recently.
The bank has contributed Rs 10 lakh from its funds toward the Kolhapur and Sangli floods fund relief programme, while its staff donated Rs 3.50 lakh. This fund was handed over to the minister at the function, informed the bank in a press release issued here on Monday.
The release further said that the bank, operated by the all-women staff, has distributed 15 per cent dividend to the customers for last 22 years.
Also, as the net non-performing assets (NPAs) of the bank have been zero per cent over past 16 years, the bank has constantly received an ‘A’ grade in audits, the release added.
