BFW launches Hosur facility, to set up 2 new plants

Chennai, Oct 4 (UNI) Bharat Fritz Werner Limited (BFW), India’s leading
solution provider in the area of machine tools, was planning to set up two
new plants, including on in Karnataka.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Company Managing Director Ravi
Raghavan said of the two plants, one could come up at Tumkur in Karnataka,
where BFW would be setting up a machine tools park.
The location of the other plant was yet to be decided.
He said the two new plants were envisaged to take the production capacity
to 10,000 machines per year in the next 3-4 years, from the present 3,500
machines.
Announcing BFW’s new manufacturing facility at Hosur in Tamil Nadu, he
said it was is a‘Factory of the Future’, and the plant was an engineering
masterpiece.
The company was a front runner in digitization and use of Artificial
Intelligence in the Manufacturing Industry. Incidentally, BFW was the
first company to get all its approvals online when the Tamil Nadu
government inaugurated its single window clearance portal.
Mr Ravi Raghavan said in the first phase the factory was spread across
60,000 sqft and includes significant numbers of modern machines to enable
integration of existing foundry facility with machining capability.
''The second phase will spread over another 60,000 sq ft area. The Industry
4.0 compliant factory is fully-automated and AI enabled. The manufacturing
process here is designed to take it to next level through digitisation and
superior engineering'', he said, adding, such processes ensure cost efficiency,
increased manpower productivity, shortened manufacturing time and were in
line with the company’s endeavour to progress in every area of its operations.
