Bengal: STF raid finds illegal firearms, ammunition hidden in ponds in Sandeshkhali

Kolkata, Jun 6 (UNI) A massive cache of illegal firearms and ammunition hidden in local ponds and properties was found during a raid conducted by the Special Task Force (STF) of West Bengal Police in Manipur and Sarberia Bazaar areas of Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district on Saturday, police said.
Commenting on the matter, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari posted on X, noting that a massive quantity of firearms had been stockpiled to foment unrest in the state.
The STF operation targeted local Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders Robin Das and Gopal Das — both identified as close aides to Sheikh Shahjahan.

Imphal, July 11 UNI : A few abandoned houses of residents belonging to the Meitei community near a security encampment at a village in Imphal West district were burnt on Saturday by a mob of Kuki miscreants evoking wide spread condemnations.
Two persons were apprehended for their alleged involvement in the incident, inviting condemnation from Chief Minister Y Khemchand, his predecessor N Biren and others.

AAPSU opposes proposed move to include Kachari community in APST list
