Bengal’s SEEDN system to ensure uninterrupted power supply

Kolkata, Jan 25 (UNI) The West Bengal Power Department has decided to introduce state-of-the-art technology system to guarantee uninterrupted supply of power at a steady voltage to each and every part of the state.
The system is known as SEEDN (strengthening and extension of electricity distribution network).
The SEEDN system will check power loss during distribution as a result of fluctuating voltage, and benefit around 1.78 crore consumers. Farmers will also be benefitted with the introduction of this modern technology.
The State Government has also started a project of supplying power for irrigation through a dedicated line. There is a huge consumption of power all through the year for draining water for supplying it to crops, which goes up during paddy cultivation.

Srinagar, Jan 22 (UNI) Fresh moderate to heavy snowfall during the past about 48 hours has badly affected snow clearance operation on Sadhna top, Z-Gali, Phirkiyan pass and other passes -- connecting dozens of far-flung and remote areas, including those near the Line of Control (LoC), which remained cutoff from rest of the valley from about two weeks.
