Bengal’s SEEDN system to ensure uninterrupted power supply

Kolkata, Jan 25 (UNI) The West Bengal Power Department has decided to introduce state-of-the-art technology system to guarantee uninterrupted supply of power at a steady voltage to each and every part of the state.
The system is known as SEEDN (strengthening and extension of electricity distribution network).
The SEEDN system will check power loss during distribution as a result of fluctuating voltage, and benefit around 1.78 crore consumers. Farmers will also be benefitted with the introduction of this modern technology.
The State Government has also started a project of supplying power for irrigation through a dedicated line. There is a huge consumption of power all through the year for draining water for supplying it to crops, which goes up during paddy cultivation.

Kottayam, Aug 22 (UNI) Holding as 'honour' killing the death of Kevin P Joseph, a Dalit Christian youth, the Principal Sessions Court in Kottayam on Thursday convicted ten persons, including the girl's brother, in the murder case by the family of his wife.
