Bengal remembers Kishore Kumar on his 88th birth anniversary

Kolkata, Aug 4 (UNI) Versatile singer-lyricist-composer-director-scriptwriter- producer-actor Kishore Kumar would have celebrated his 88th birthday, had he been alive and the film fraternity believes the singer-actor would have been a hit with audiences even today.
To mark the birth anniversary of the legendary singer, who made people laugh and cry with equal ease, he was the one voice that gave musical meaning to every human emotion.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid tribute to Kishore Kumar on the occasion.
“Tribute to Kishore Kumar, the evergreen voice, on his 88th birth anniversary,” Ms Banerjee posted on her social networking page.
Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan paid tribute to the legendary playback singer.
“Kishore Kumar's Birth Annv, Prod, Dir, Actor, Singer Music Dir; sang for me 51 films, 130+ songs, and 60 films I acted in,” Mr Bachchan tweeted.
Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar in her tweet said, “Namaskar.
Kishore Da ki aaj jayanti hai.
wo jitne acche gayak the utne hi acche insaan the.
Mujhe Kishore Da ki kami hamesha mehsoos hoti hai.
” Bollywood Director Sujoy Ghosh said, “happy birthday kishore kumar! singers may come and singers may go, but he lives on forever!” Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari in his tweet said, “Heartfelt tributes to one of India's finest singers, Kishore Kumar on his birth anniversary.
His songs are a great stress-buster for me.
” Chairman and editor in chief of an Indian Hindi news channel, India TV Rajat Sharma tweeted, “ Remembering India 's most versatile singer #KishoreKumar on his birth anniversary, his songs shall always stay in the hearts of music lovers.
” The actors of Bengal cinema like Prosenjit, Dev, Jeet and other luminaries reminisced about the singer whose evergreen numbers they had lip-synced.
