Bengal records highest confirmed Covid cases on Friday;Toll rises to 880

Kolkata, Jul 10 (UNI) Bengal recorded 1198 new confirmed Covid-19 cases, the highest so far on a single day today taking the tally to 27,109, while the toll jacked up to 880 with 26 more deaths,

According to the latest State Health Department bulletin, the count of discharged accounted for 17,348 with 522 recovering today.

While the discharge rate in the state was 63.99 per cent, the count of active cases stood at 8881.

Total number of samples tested accounted for 5,93,967 with 10,639tested on Friday.

Meanwhile, Bengali cine actress Koel Mullick tested Covid-19 positive along with her producer husband, father veteran actor Ranjit Mullick and mother.

Taking to her twitter handle, the actress said, " Baba Ma Rane & I are tested COVID-19 Positive...self quarantined! "
