Bengal Guv rushes to JU, phones state chief secretary to take action as union minister still under siege by students

Kolkata, Sep 19 (UNI) West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar today rushed to Jadavpore University to control the situation following gherao of Union minister Babul Supriyo by Leftist students, who virtually laid a siege around the minister for hours and phoned state chief secretary Malay De to take immediate action.
He also expressed serious concern over the incident.
Babul Supriyo, who arrived here to a programme of ABVP for the freshers have been gheraoed since 2 30 pm and vice-chancellor Suranjan Das refused to call the police to rescue the beleaguered minister.
