Bengal Guv finally rescues beleaguered Babul Supriyo after being detained for over an hour by section of JU students on campus

Kolkata, Sep 19 (UNI) In an unprecedented move West Bengal Governor

Jagdeep Dhankar today finally rescued beleaguered union minister

Babul Supriyo into his car and drove out of campus amid protests by

the Leftist students, after being stranded for over an hour.

The students also detained the MP from Asansol for nearly five hours.

The governor's action happened after vice-chancellor Suranjan Das

refused to call the police and reportedly said he would rather

quit before calling the force inside the campus.

Both Das and his pro-vice-chancellor Pradip Kumar Ghosh have been admitted

to hospital.

Covid cases reach 132 in Manipur

Imphal, June 5 (UNI) : Eight new Covid 19 cases were detected today at RIMS thus increasing the total numbers of Covid 19 positive and active cases have increased to 132 and 91 respectively in Manipur. Three patients were also discharged from RIMS today.
