Kolkata, Mar 24 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today announced a poor-friendly scheme styled as " Prochesta" under which each daily wage labour would get an assistance of Rs 1000 per month, even as she extended enforced lock-down across the state up to March end.
Addressing the reporters at Nabanna, she said the government would
leave no stone un-turned to fight the dangerous coronavirus and urged
all sections of people to maintain sanity and protect themselves.
She said the " Prochesta" would assist the daily wage labourers
the assistance of Rs 1000 per month as the enforced lock-down would affect the economic activity of the manual workers.
She also extended the lockdown period which has been effective from
Monday 5 pm, up to the end of March 31. Earlier it was scheduled to end after March 27.
