Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar congratulates Abhijit Banerjee for being awarded Nobel Prize

Kolkata, Oct 14 (UNI) West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar today congratulated
Professor Abhijit Binayak Banerjee, alumnus of South Point School and Presidency
College Kolkata, for being awarded the Noble Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences
in 2019.
" His field of work being development economics, with particular emphasis on
alleviating global poverty will be relevant to many developing countries," the Governor
said in a statement.
Mr Dhankhar said, "Mr Banerjee has made us proud with his high achievement,
which will inspire our young scholars."
