Bengal: Female law student's body found hanging in advocate chamber

Kolkata, Nov 13 (UNI) Mystery surrounds the death of a 21-year-old female law student whose body was found hanging in an advocate's chamber in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district. The whereabouts of the lawyer are not known, official sources said on Thursday.
Sonia Haldar, a resident of Gandhinagar village under Kakdwip block, was found hanging in the chamber of advocate Sheikh Manowar Alam at Pratapaditya gram panchayat on Wednesday evening. The law student is said to have gone out as usual in the morning for Kakdwip court where she worked under Manowar Alam, but did not return in the evening.
After searching, the parents and relatives discovered the body of Haldar in the advocate's chamber. The police later seized a handbag of the law student before her body was taken to the hospital for postmortem.

Gumla coldest as temperature drops below 10°C in ten districts

Ranchi, Dec 07 (UNI) Jharkhand continues to reel under an intense cold wave as icy winds from North India push temperatures significantly below normal across several districts. While the sky remained clear throughout the day and no rainfall was recorded anywhere in the state, the minimum temperature has been steadily falling during the night and early morning hours, causing severe chills among residents. According to the Meteorological Department, ten districts have recorded minimum temperatures below 10°C.
