Belarus opposition disputes Lukashenko landslide win

Minsk, Aug 10(UNI) Belarus's main challenger President Alexander Lukashenko on Monday refused to accept the election results which showed that the long serving autocratic president got 80% of the vote in Sunday's election.
"I consider myself the winner of this election," Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said on Monday, who entered the election in place of her jailed husband and drew large crowds in her rallies.
Thousands of people have been protesting since Sunday evening against the election results. The police has come down heavily on the protesters and arrested thousands of them in the capital Minsk and other cities.
