Puducherry, Jun 16 (UNI) Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi along with team Raj Nivas and scores of volunteers visited Velrampet Lake on Sunday morning and planted Palm saplings on it’s banks to strengthen the banks under the mission “Green Puducherry”.

According to a Raj Nivas statement, they planted over 200 saplings along the bank to strengthen and saw sprouts of last year’s saplings, which meant that the efforts made by the forest department officials and the area community was sprouting. To give momentum to the mission “Green Puducherry”,gratitude letters called “Pasumai Puducherry” would be issued to individuals and groups who plant ten thousand saplings and seeds during this year.
