Bedi visits Urban forest trail

Puducherry, Dec 30 (UNI) Puducherry Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi on Sunday undertook the 212th morning week end round to revisit the Urban forest trail here.

According to a Raj Nivas release, the revisit was to review the status, if improvements were made since the last visit. It was found that since her first visit three weeks ago over seven thousand visitors have visited the urban forest in an organized way.

The revisit was made also to ensure due integration with Smart City project and due sensitisation of all stake holders such as chief Forest Conservator, Department of Tourism,Industries and contiguity and even overlap. This was also to ensure funds allocated by the Government of India for Smart city project keep extension of urban forest factored in all reviews and planning,as it is a strong green belt and lungs of Puducherry.

Senior officials of the territorial administration were present on the occasion.
