BCCI to set up Fan Park at Shimla

Shimla, Apr 21(UNI) To promote Cricket and VIVO IPL 2017, Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) decided to set up a Fan Park at historic Ice Skating Lakkar Bazaar area of Shimla, official sources said here.
The Project in-charge Amit Sidheshwer in a press conference held here said that this would be the 10th season of IPL and Fan park is open for the first time. The fan park was first began in 16 cities in the country now would be held on 36 towns in 21 states.
Each Venue in the Fan park would broadcast IPL live on gaint TV screens, creating a stadium like atmosphere. Entry would be free and furthermore, there would be music and multiple sale stalls for food, beverages.
Mr. Sidheshwer said that last season saw a massive turnout of 3 lakh cricket enthusiasts who experienced the IPL live at the Fan Parks. He added that 14 new cities including Bhubaneswar, Bareilly, Kochi, Ludhiana, Tumkur and Nagercoil as wells Shimla and Shillong would also added to this passion for the cricket.

TOKYO, Apr 23 (REUTERS) John Coates, chairman of the IOC's Coordination Committee for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, told organisers on Monday that stakeholders may lose confidence in their ability to host the Games if they do not answer questions about preparations.
