Kolkata, Mar 18 (UNI) Officials of the BCCI's anti-corruption wing- ACU spoke to Team India pacer Mohammad Shami's wife Hasin Jahan over allegations the player's involvement in match-fixing.
Significantly, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) Chief Vinod Rai had directed the ACU to investigate the alleged involvement of Shami in match-fixing and submit its report within seven days following which the ACU officials landed here on Saturday and met the cricketer's wife.
However, it wasn't clear whether Jahan has handed any document to the ACU supporting her allegations that the cricketer had met a woman in Dubai who was supposed to give him money sent by another person from Britain.
Significantly, Shmai's wife had also also released an alleged recording of her telephonic conversation with the pacer during which Shami rejected the accusations of adultery and claimed that he met a woman named Alisba in Dubai who was supposed to give him money sent by a certain Mohammed Bhai from Britain.
As the matter worsened, the BCCI decided to keep on hold Shami's annual player contract and his participation in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is uncertain as Delhi Daredevils is likely to take a call only after a green signal from the board.
