BC leaders vow to protect 42 pc reservation in local body polls

Hyderabad, Oct 5 (UNI) Leaders from across political parties and over 60 BC associations resolved to wage an uncompromising fight to secure 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes in the upcoming local body elections.
At a roundtable meeting held at Private Hotel today, former Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister Vakiti Srihari, senior leaders including Srinivas Goud, Gangula Kamalakar, V Hanumantha Rao, Putta Madhu, Ananda Bhaskar and others, along with MPs and MLCs, discussed the ongoing legal battle in the Supreme Court and High Court.
Rajya Sabha MP R. Krishnaiah, who presided over the meeting, stressed that eminent advocates will be appointed to defend BC reservations.
