BBSBEC's CSE dept inks MoU with Red Hat academy

Fatehgarh Sahib, Feb 10 (UNI) The Department of Computer science and engineering (CSE),Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College (BBSBEC), Fatehgarh Sahib entered into an MoU with Red Hat® Worlds Open Source leader, to differentiate themselves by providing an enterprise-ready Linux and Open Source curriculum to their students.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of Guests of Honour Karnail Singh Panjoli Member BBSB educational Trust , Mohinder Singh Ahli (Secretary BBSB Education Trust) , Maj Gen (Dr) G S Lamba VSM , Principal, BBSBEC .

Speaking on the occasion Maj Gen (Dr) G S Lamba VSM said such initiatives are advantageous to students' overall growth. Dr. Baljit Singh Khehra, HoD (CSE) welcomed the dignitaries on the dais and informed the students that through this academic partnership, students will get online access to Red Hat Courses such as Linux System Administration, Networking and Server Administration, Cloud Computing, JBoss Enterprise Application Development among others.
Dr Kanwalvir Singh briefed the gathering about the benefits of Red Hat Academy for students and faculty members and also highlighted the importance and growth of Linux in today's IT market for which Red Hat is providing a turn key program for educational institutions, an Open Source education platform named Red Hat Academy.
Maj.Gen. (Dr.) G S Lamba VSM presented the vote of thanks and added that such endeavours will help the students acquire cutting-edge, job-relevant IT skills.

Red Hat Academy at CSE Dept. Lab,BBSBEC was inaugurated by Trust Members,Red Hat officials-Mr.Khushdil Garg ,COSS Manager and Mr. Saurabh Galav, Red Hat certified Instructor and Examiner. This lab has been established for the students to get the renowned Red Hat Certifications, so that they can excel in their respective fields of interest and walk hand in hand with the upcoming technologies in the market.

Mr Khushdil and Mr Saurabh Galav briefed the students regarding Red Hat Academy (RHA) curriculum which is offered across Red Hats most in-demand platform, middleware, and cloud technologies. Rather than learning theoretical skills, students will be able to learn practical skills based on use cases from thousands of enterprise implementations. On completion of the course the students will be able to develop the in-demand skills employers need and receive discounted certification.
