BBMB inaugurates rooftop solar PV plants at 220kv sub-stations in Delhi, Narela

Chandigarh, Jan 29 (UNI) The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has planned to implement grid connected rooftop solar PV projects on the roofs of its buildings/offices, ground mounted and floating solar PV plant, as part of its contribution to renewable energy initiatives of the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
Union Power Ministry Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Tuesday inaugurated the Grid Connected Rooftop Solar PV Plant of 80kWp capacity at 220kV Substation BBMB, Delhi and of 20kWp capacity at 220kV sub-station BBMB, Narela.
Both these plants are estimated to generate 1.60 lakh units of energy per annum, a BBMB statement said here.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bhalla appreciated BBMB, a pioneer in hydro-electric generation, for contribution towards renewable energy initiatives. He also highlighted numerous benefits of harnessing renewable energy and congratulated BBMB Chairman D K Sharma and his team, for their concerted efforts in this direction.
The BBMB Chairman informed that on December 18, 2018, Rooftop Solar Power Plants, with a total capacity of 100kWp at 220kV Substation, BBMB, Jalandhar and of 60kWp at 220kV Substation, BBMB, Jamalpur, were commissioned.
Earlier, the Board had installed Grid Connected Rooftop PV plants on its office buildings at Chandigarh, with total installed capacity of 175kWp, in August, 2017.
Er Sharma said that besides installation of more rooftop PV plants on the sub-station and non-residential buildings, installation of Ground Mounted Solar PV Plant and Floating Solar PV Plant at Nangal has also been taken in hand in BBMB.
He congratulated the BBMB employees and engineers and lauded their concerted efforts in achieving the feat.

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) Industry body PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry has identified 10 key enablers including ease of doing business, reducing cost of doing business such as cost of capital, power, logistics, land among others, that would lead the Indian economy to “Viksit Bharat by 2047”
