Battle for Jharkhand: Average voter turnout of 62.77 per cent recorded as polling ends in 5 seats

Ranchi, Dec 20 (UNI) An average 62.77 per cent voters exercised their democratic right till 1500hrs as voting came to an end in the 5 seats out of the 16 of Santhal Pargana division which went to the polls in the last phase of Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha elections today.
However, people are still voting on in the remaining 11 seats.

Polling on Borio, Barhet, Littipada, Maheshpur and Shikaripada came to an end at 1500hrs while in the remaining 11 seats it will end at 1700hrs.

Among the constituencies Mahespur recorded the maximum voter turnout of 70.44 per cent while Dumka recorded minimum voter turnout of 55.26 per cent.

Constituency wise the polling percentage is as following Rajmahal 59.32 percent, Borio (ST) 62.56 percent, Barhet (ST) 63.78 percent, Littipada (ST) 66.95 percent, Pakur 69.96 percent, Maheshpur (ST) 70.44 percent, Shikaripada (ST) 61.53 percent, Nala 68.21 percent, Jamtara 66.11 percent, Dumka (ST) 55.26 percent, Jama (ST) 62.20 percent, Jarmundi 63.56 percent, Sarath 66.77 percent, Poriyahaat 55.68 percent, Godda 58.12 percent and Mahgama 56.77 percent.
