'The officers should ensure that the transfer process should complete by June 30 and no shifting should be carried out after this cut-off date. All the state-run schools should get books, uniforms, shoes and bags by first week of July, so that the same could be disbursed among the students within the stipulated time.

'The district officials should ensure that there is drinking water available in school and toilets are neat and clean,' the Chief Minister said.

The system of inter-state transfer of teachers on request was introduced through a government order on February 5. At least 37,396 teachers had applied for transfer, of which 31,513 applications were found to be correct.

In this process, 'divyang' women teachers and those suffering from dreaded disease were given preference.

The Government Spokesman said that 40,766 posts of teachers and 6719 posts of Principal in Primary section were open for inter-state transfer.

In another function, the Chief Minister distributed scholarship among the children of hawkers, who excelled in the Board examination.
