Bars allowed to open in Assam

Guwahati, Aug 6 (UNI) Sale and consumption of liquor in licensed restaurants have been allowed in Assam, after it was stopped since end of March during the first phase of nationwide lockdown against novel coronavirus.
The state government has accorded approval to allowing the restaurants to serve liquour, if they the requisite license, with the opening of restaurants, an official source informed.
The restaurants will have to ensure strict compliance of social distancing and other precautionary norms as per guidelines issued by the government in view of the COVID 19 pandemic.
