Barauni fertiliser factory to be revive with investment of Rs 6500 Crores: Pradhan

Patna, Oct 6 (UNI) Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today announced that
Barauni fertiliser factory in Bihar would be revived with an investment of Rs 6,500 Crores.
Mr Pradhan, after a meeting with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, told media persons
here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to accelerate the pace of development
in Bihar and it was necessary to revive the old inoperative factories and lay a vast network of industries in the state.
To achieve the goal, the Centre had decided to revive Barauni fertiliser factory with an
investment of Rs 6,500 Crores in Bihar, he added.
Union Minister said the capacity of Barauni oil refinery would be increased besides setting
up a new petro chemical unit there.
During meeting with Chief Minister Mr Kumar, issue of Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga Yojna also
came up for discussion, he said adding that LPG wold be made available through network of pipe line under the scheme.
Mr Pradhan said the pipe line project of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) was also discussed during the meeting with Chief Minister.
Petroleum pipe line would be laid upto Motihari while LPG line would be laid from Bhagalpur to
Muzaffarpur, he informed.
