Banks to play important role in the UP development: Yogi

Lucknow, Jun 28 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that banks would play an important role in development of infrastructure as well as are instrumental in opening job avenues for the youth, so that there is an improvement in the social and economic status of people.
“The state government has taken a historical decision to waive off crop loan up to Rs 1 lakh of over 86 lakh small and marginal farmers. The banks have played a pivotal role in implementation of this scheme. Once the budget of 2017-18 is passed the money will transferred to the banks. Till we pass the state budget the banks should not issue recovery notice to the farmers,” Yogi said while addressing a special State Level Bankers’ Committee meet held here today.
He also released a booklet “Uttar Pradesh Government Crop Loan Redemption for Upliftment and Sustainable Development of Small and Marginal farmers’ on this occasion.
