Banks to launch second phase of Customer outreach initiative in UP

Lucknow, Oct 19 (UNI) The second phase of the Customer Outreach Initiative programme, announced by the Union Finance Ministry, would be launched in 19 districts of Uttar Pradesh, from October 21 to 25.

The second phase will focus on increasing the customer outreach by each public sector and private bank. It has now being fixed that at least five customers should be included by each branch, during this initiative.
Dr Ramjass Yadav, General Manger and Convenor of SBLC (UP) said that in the first phase of the programme, which was organised in 28 districts from October 3 to 7, Rs 2125 crore had been sanctioned to around 40,000 beneficiaries in different schemes.
He told mediapersons here on Saturday that the objective of this programme was to make the credit facilities in retail, agriculture, Auto, Home, Education, MSME and Personal loans accessible and easy for the customers, in tune with the RBI guidelines.
He said in the first phase, Kasganj district topped in distributing loans to the tune of Rs 600 crore.
Rs 807 crore were distributed in the retail sector, including home and auto loans, followed by Rs 564 crore in agriculture sector, Rs 552 crore in MSME and Rs 203 crore for the start-up and Mudra scheme in the first phase, he added.
