Bank of India Q2 net profit up by 41 per cent

Mumbai, Nov 10 (UNI) Public lender Bank of India on Friday said its
net profit for the second quarter ended September 30 this year was
at Rs 179.07 crore, up by 41 per cent over against the net profit of
Rs 126.84 crore during the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Net interest income (NII) or the core income a bank earns by giving
loans increased 7 per cent to Rs 2,908.24 crore, as against Rs
2,719.74 crore last year.
Other income declined 15.1 per cent to Rs 1,706.38 crore from Rs
2,010.63 crore during the same period last year.
Provisions and contingencies fell 15 per cent to Rs 1,953.30 crore
from Rs 2,296.22 crore a year ago.
