Dhaka, Nov 19 (UNI) Habibul Bashar, the former Bangladesh captain and current national selector, has been hospitalised after testing positive for Covid-19.
Bashar tested positive on November 12 and was hospitalized on 16th following detection of an infection in his lungs.
'I was admitted on Monday. Doctor said that my lungs infection increased and immediately admitted me to the hospital. I am not having any fever at the moment and due to infection in my lungs the fever was not going,' Cricbuzz quoted Habibul as saying on Thursday.
'Now I am quite fine as there is no breathing problem and hopefully will be released on Saturday,' he added.
Bashar has been active in his role as a member BCB selection panel, alongside chief selector Minhajul Abedin, and has been on the field over the last few weeks, at training and at matches.
According to the official figures in the Bangladesh, 2364 new infections were detected in the last 24 hours while 30 have succumbed to the virus.
