Bangladesh interim govt cancels Aug 15 public holiday to mark National Mourning Day

Dhaka, Aug 13 (UNI) Bangladesh’s interim government on Tuesday cancelled the public holiday on August 15, which marks National Mourning Day, in the wake of the ouster of the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the advisory council of the interim government, chaired by Chief Adviser Prof Mohammad Yunus, at his official residence, the State Guest House Jamuna, on Tuesday evening.
The Ministry of Public Administration has also issued a gazette in this regard.
