Bangladesh currency recovered from Tripura

Agartala, Nov 23 (UNI) Tripura police in a late night raid recovered a huge amount of Bangladeshi currencies in Indian value worth of Rs 53.30 lakh from a resident of Madhupur area of Bishalgarh yesterday. Acting on a tip-off, police team raided in a Muslim village in the area and recovered the money and about 77 kg dry ganja from a banana orchard owned by one Kala Mian. However, police could not arrest anybody in connection with recovery. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tapas Das said investigation has been continuing against into the recovery and claimed that the accused persons would be booked soon. According to report, large number of transactions of demonetised Indian rupees have been made in exchange of Bangladeshi currencies. UNI BB KK
