Bangladesh adds 20 more deaths, 1,441 new cases of COVID-19

Dhaka, Oct 8 (UNI) Bangladesh on Thursday recorded 20 more deaths from COVID-19 and 1,441 fresh cases, taking the death toll to 5,460 while total cases to 3,74,592, country's health department said.
As per an official statement, as many as 12,605 samples were tested in the past day. With this, the number of total sample tests reached 20,39,413.
However, 1,585 more COVID-19 patients made recovery, bringing the total recovery to 2,88,316.
Bangladesh first reported its COVID-19 cases on March 8. Since then the country has been struggling to limit spread of the highly contagious virus.
