Ban on insecticides to help spices exports: Exporters

Kochi, May 27 (UNI) Spices exports in the global market will get a boost following the ban on 27 insecticide compounds which cause serious health issues to human beings and animals, according to All India Spices Exporters Forum here.
"This step is going to be a great support to build trust on Indian spices industry globally and boost spice exports from India. The move will also make food safer for our domestic consumers", AISEF chairman Rajiv Palicha said.
Indian spice exports have grown significantly in volume and value and the net value of exports has crossed Dollar three billion this year. The industry is to achieve Dollar five billion by 2025, he said.
