Ban controversial Islamic outfit PFI immediately- Sufi Board to Centre

Ahmedabad, Jan 20 (UNI) Reiterating its demand for nationwide ban on controversial Islamic outfit Popular Front of India (PFI), the Sufi Islamic Board on Wednesday said that if the Centre did not proscribe the outfit which was involved in terrorist and anti-national activities and radicalising Muslim youths, the board would be compelled to start an on-road campaign for it.
President of the Gujarat unit of the board, Pir Sufi Saiyad Khalid Nakvi Al Hussaini said that his organisation was already running a #banPFI campaign. 'Various reports from the government and the national and international news agencies show the links between the PFI and anti-India countries like Turkey. The meeting between the top leaders of PFI with those of Turkey's terrorist outfit IHH which supports Al Qaeda and ISIS is a matter of grave concern. Apart from it, hundreds of serious criminal cases have been lodged against PFI people and many of them have been convicted too. Because of its anti-human acts, the Jharkhand government has already banned it. The PFI also mislead Muslim youth and radicalise them to join terror activities.'
He said, ''Its role in the violent protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, Hathras incident and other such incidents have also come to fore. If the central government did not ban it on pan India level at the earliest, then it can do great harm to the nation. It is also being said that Turkey and Pakistan were trying to send the ISIS terrorists in Kashmir and in such a scenario the PFI can also play a damaging role there. If the government does not pay heed to our demand, the board will hit the roads for it.''
