Balasore declared Odisha’s Scampi Production & Processing Cluster

Bhubaneswar, July 21 (UNI) Odisha's Balasore district has been declared the Production and Processing Cluster for scampi, marking a major step towards strengthening aquaculture and fisheries infrastructure in the state.
The Department of Fisheries (DoF) under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (MoFAH&D) is implementing a range of schemes and programmes for the holistic development of the fisheries and aquaculture sector across the country, including Balasore, based on proposals and recommendations submitted by the Odisha government.
Over the past 12 years, from 2014-15 onwards, the Department of Fisheries has approved projects worth Rs.1,567.96 crore under the Blue Revolution (BR) and the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) for fisheries and aquaculture development in Odisha. The projects include a Central assistance of Rs.549.58 crore and cover Balasore district as well.

Patna, Aug 16 (UNI) BJP MP and former union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today launched a sharp political attack on senior Congress leader and former union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, accusing him of displaying an "irresponsible mindset" by saying, "Modi ji, I am also mentally a Naxal."
Prasad told news persons here that Chidambaram's remark was highly objectionable, particularly because he had himself served as the country's Home Minister and was also a senior Supreme Court lawyer and Rajya Sabha member.
