Balaji/Vardhan just miss the bus in doubles final

Chandigarh, Aug 19 (UNI) Indian pair of N Sriram Balaji and Vishnu Vardhan fought a spirited battle before being pipped by Andre Begemann of Germany and Florin Mergea of Romania in the doubles final of the €46,600 ATP Challenger in Meerbusch in Germany on Sunday.
Both the first sets were decided in tie-breaker and the match tie-breaker was involved to settle the deadlock. Begermann/Mergea clinched the issue in their favour by 7-6 (1), 6-7 (4), 10-3 in oe hour and 47 minutes, despite commiting five double faults and releasing a solitary ace.
Balaji/Vardhan shot two aces and committed three double faults. The Indian pair won 35 points out of 48 on their first service and 19 points out of 32 on the second service. Their first service was 60 per cent in while Begermann/Mergea recorded 64 per cent of their first service in. They won 36 out of 53 points on their service and 21 out of 30 on their second service. Begermann/Mergea saved three out of five break points and won both break points. Balaji/Vardhan could not save two break points which came their way and won two out of five break points.
