Balaji-Nedunchezhiyan toppled in first round in Knoxville Challenger

Chandigarh, Nov 7 (UNI) Top seeded Indian pair of N Sriram Balaji and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan were toppled by American pair of Marcos Giron and Alex Lawson in doubles first round match in the $ 54,160 Knoxville Challenger (Tennessee), US.

On Wednesday Giron-Lawson wrapped up the match with a 7-5, 6-4 verdict in one hour and seven minutes. Giron-Lawson broke Balaji-Nedunchezhiyan in the 9th and 11th games while they were broken in the 10th game before the Americans won the first set 7-5.

After breaking service of Balaji-Nedunchezhiyan in the seventh game to take 4-3 lead and retained their service in the next game to make it 5-3 and finished the set at 6-4.
