Badminton: Lakshya Sen, Ayush Shetty suffer first-round exits in Japan

Tokyo, July 15 (UNI) India’s men’s singles challenge at the Japan Open 2026 badminton tournament ended early after both Lakshya Sen and Ayush Shetty lost their first-round
matches at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on Wednesday.
Lakshya Sen, 14th in men’s singles badminton rankings, lost 21-16, 21-14 against world No. 17 Koki Watanabe of Japan.

Sai Sudharsan ruled out of Sri Lanka series; Sarfaraz Khan named replacement

Mumbai, Aug 9 (UNI) Sai Sudharsan has been ruled out of the Test series against Sri Lanka, the BCCI confirmed on Sunday,
The left-handed batter, who has been at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru, has made significant progress in his recovery from the right toe stress reaction and is recovering well.
The BCCI Medical Team is closely monitoring his progress. The Men’s Selection Committee has named Sarfaraz Khan as a replacement for Sai Sudharsan for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
