Badal welcomes central notification on Chandigarh appointments on 60:40 formula

Chandigarh, Oct 17 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Patron and former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal today thanked Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh and the central government for conceding Punjab’s demand for restoration of the 60:40 ratio in recruitment, appointments and postings in the Union Territory of Chandigarh “till the eventual transfer of the City to Punjab.”
Mr Badal also asked the Chandigarh Administration to ensure expeditious implementation of the fresh notification from the Union Government in this regard.
The veteran Akali leader was commenting on the Union Government notification specifically stopping the implementation of the September 25 notification which had provided for the merger of the posts of the DSP’s in the UT with the cadre of other Union Territory such as Daman, Diu etc, known as DANIPS.
